I’m excited to share some news that’s close to my heart: Learning Uncut is entering into a strategic partnership with the Australian Institute of Training and Development (AITD). As I reflect on this new chapter, I feel excited about the opportunity to continue my professional journey and contribute further to the association that is my L&D ‘home ground’.

My relationship with AITD began over a decade ago when I became a member in 2012. Since then, I’ve served as a Division Council member and president, presented at conferences and webinars, written for the AITD magazine, facilitating courses and been MC at a few events. In 2019, I was deeply honoured to receive the Dr. Alastair Rylatt Award for L&D Professional of the Year at the AITD Excellence Awards. Alongside the professional development opportunities offered by the AITD, these experiences have helped shape my understanding of the L&D landscape in Australia and reinforced my commitment to our profession.

This partnership feels like a natural progression of this long-standing relationship. It’s an opportunity for me to further advance my contribution to AITD and the broader L&D community. I’m looking forward to working closely with AITD on a number of strategic initiatives and research activities.

I’ve witnessed firsthand the rapid evolution of the L&D profession and the increasing complexity of the challenges we face. This partnership is one of my responses to these ongoing changes. By partnering with the AITD, I believe that I can better contribute to the evolving needs of our profession in Australia.

I’m particularly excited about the research collaborations that this partnership will enable. There are so many pressing issues in the L&D field that deserve deeper exploration, and I’m eager to contribute to this important work. I’m also looking forward to sharing insights and knowledge through various channels, continuing the mission of Learning Uncut to provide practical, actionable insights for L&D professionals.

This partnership is more than just a professional milestone for me; it’s a commitment to the entire L&D community in Australia. I truly believe that together, we can drive positive change in organisational learning practices and create a better future through learning.

I invite you all to be part of this journey. Whether you’re an AITD member or a professional interested in the field, there are always opportunities to engage, contribute and benefit from being part of the L&D community. I’ll be sharing updates on our initiatives and findings, and I’m always eager to hear your thoughts and insights.

As I embark on this new chapter, I’m grateful for the L&D community that has supported and inspired me over the years. I’m also energised by the potential of what we can achieve together. Here’s to the future of L&D in Australia – I believe it’s looking brighter than ever.
